About the speakers
Carolina B. García-Estevez
Dr. Arch., Prof. Serra Húnter of History of Architecture UPC, Head of Publications ETSAB
Her areas of research focus on the history of modern architecture, its correspondence with art and literature, and especially the work of Rainer Maria Rilke, as well as the circulation and reception of images and objects of Spanish monumental architecture understood as a network of exchanges during the processes of internationalisation in the mass media: the creation of archives, their exhibition supports, the value of time, authenticity and the copy or its invention from the account of the enlightened travellers to the present day.
Josep Ferrando
Founding Partner Josep Ferrando Architecture, Dean School of Architecture La Salle Barcelona, Director Open Center for Architecture, Curator Biennial of Thought Barcelona.
Ferrando Architecture, in keeps with the multifaceted vision of architecture that he defends, is part craftsman, part academic and part cultural manager. In 2003, he set up his practice in Barcelona. Thanks to the methodology he uses in his work, and considering monomateriality, geometry and efficiency as fundamental values, Ferrando produces solutions that not only never repeat forms, but are also not predictable, thereby achieving the most appropriate and ingenious architectural outcome for each circumstance.
