Models matter

Defining an architectural project begins with ideas, relationships, needs… that are shaped in two dimensions in the form of sketches, approximations…

But architecture is about space, about volume, and in this case models are often more adequate three-dimensional tools to work with than 2D representations on paper.

Point of view

In the production of architecture, it is necessary to operate with all the points of view of confrontation with reality.

Distant: Seeing reality from afar, from above. Here we will be able to analyse urban relations, contexts, implementations, dialogues… The urbanistic vision carries it implicitly, but also any project, at some point, needs it.

Close-up: The view from a nearby point of view will teach us to see the more human scale, the scale of use and perception.

And finally, the detail: The encounter of direct matter and its complex dialogue. Designing objects involves this almost physical contact; there are no more plans at the end, there are prototypes.

Álvaro Siza said something very beautiful about this some time ago:

‘The eye, in order not to atrophy, needs to go through all these scales’.

We will be presenting here, briefly, a small series of our models that go through these three points of view.
