The session turned around three themes:
1. Nature
Specifically, water: water as a meeting point with the earth, as an opening movement. Architecture is the need for anchorage (as opposed to the movement of floating); it is stability as opposed to the continuous movement of water.
In the architecture of Josep Lluís Mateo, nature is always the first reference of the context—the context with which it engages, with which it interacts.
2. History
While context is the first point of reference, another important reference is history, seen in two movements:
1. Setting.
2. Remains, materials, elements to be reused as a basis for new building.
3. City
As a filter.
