» The initial act of construction—shifting the ground, moving the earth, rising upwards—is mirrored by its final stage: demolition, collapse, the archaeological remains left behind.
The exhibition engages in a dialogue with these two moments. The photographs become vast protective linings, wrapping the weathered walls of the existing building—the Palau del Marquès d’Alfarràs, where the exhibition takes place—as it undergoes demolition.
This is not a pristine white gallery where photographs are presented as small framed objects.
Instead, we find ourselves in a more telluric setting, one that is intrinsically aligned with the exhibition’s narrative: a place that conveys the force and energy inherent in the making of something new.»

Atlas Re-Edificatoria explores architecture as a continuous process of construction, transformation and disappearance. Featuring photographs by Adrià Goula, the exhibition focuses on the material energy of architecture and on those moments when a building exists between what it once was and what it is yet to become, highlighting the aesthetic and documentary value of the construction process.
Among the selected works is one of Adrià Goula‘s photographs of Mateoarquitectura’s Mercat del Ninot renovation project, included as part of this visual narrative reflecting on architecture’s capacity for transformation, memory and permanence.
Date: 19 June to 28 September
Venue: Palau d’Alfarràs
