The trade fair site in Montjuïc is to be remodeled ahead of the centenary for the International Expo of 1929, with an International Architecture Competition launched for the renovation project. The goal is to turn the Montjuïc site into a modern urban venue in Europe.
Josep Lluís Mateo has been appointed president of the jury together with Maria Goula, Joan Lluis Zamora i Mestre, Joan Olona i Casas and Maria Langarita i Sánchez, along with a Technical Committee.
“It is good news -both for the city and for architecture- that the competition is based on quality criteria, with a clear international vocation” – Josep Lluís Mateo.
