Obra oberta
by Josep Lluís Mateo, Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya. Barcelona, 2025.
For Josep Lluís Mateo, the practical production of a project begins with sheets of paper on which hand and mind align to signal the start of a path towards the object. These are imprecise drawings that are later digitally transformed, gradually gaining precision, supported by the vision of the object in volume and in space through models.
Some fictional exterior views are also produced, but they are always attempts, never cinematic realities. Finally, matter appears—the realm closest to sensations—where detail becomes essential. At that point, looking with precision, almost through a microscope, becomes indispensable.
