mateoarquitectura took part in the event “Grandes Estudios Líderes de Arquitectura”, hosted by Grupo Vía in Barcelona and focused on the role of leading architecture studios in shaping the future urban landscape.
Alba Bullich presented the ESMA project in Montpellier. Conceived as a compact urban unit, the design integrates academic, residential, and leisure spaces. The building frames the historic parade ground, preserving existing trees and creating a central courtyard. With a solid, contextual form, the structure is closed to the street and open inward, built in textured concrete that shifts from dark and rough to light and smooth.
A second project was also shared, continuing the studio’s focus on urban regeneration, sustainable strategies, and adaptable academic environments.
